Item Registration
When you register your item this year, please provide a small description (2 – 3 sentences) that will encourage high bidding and a picture. Email Deb Verdecchia at dverdecchia@cuna.com with your description and picture.
What to Bring
Last year we raised just over $10,000 – in order to best that amount, we need items that will bring large bids. This year, we will be doing things a little differently. We ask this year not to bring anything with your credit union logo on it.
Why you ask? We want to rock the auction with member/owners of your credit union! We are looking for unique items - Do you have a micro brewery, artist, sports person; jewelry designer that may or may not belongs to your credit union in which you could tap for an item?
Here is a list of some recommended items:
- Sports memorabilia – especially if it is autographed and authenticated
- Personal electronics – iPods, mp3 docking stations, Bluetooth earpieces
- Jewelry – especially if it is one of a kind, unique or from your specific area
- Artwork/Crafts – items from your area of the country
- Wines – stick with brands that are local to your area and may not be mass produced
Delivering your Items
There are two convenient options you can use to get your items to the conference.
1) You can ship your items to the

in advance, by shipping it to:

Please make sure that the name of your organization is clearly identified on any shipped items. Items cannot arrive any earlier than Wednesday, March 11.

You can bring your item with you. Items can be dropped off at the Silent Auction area during registration on Wednesday and Thursday morning. If no one is at the table, please leave your item with a business card attached that includes the dollar value of the item.
Buy Tickets, Buy Often
Bidding has changed for the 5th Annual Silent Auction! Last year you had an opportunity to write down your dollar amount and bid against each other for items. This year you will have the opportunity to buy tickets for a chance to win the item(s) you want. Simply place your ticket(s) in the corresponding box of the item(s) that you want. The more tickets you buy, the better you're chances of winning your item(s).
Tickets will be sold during conference registration and throughout the day on Thursday. The 5th Annual Silent Auction will commence at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12 where you will be able to participate at a “Live Auction” for certain designated items. You also will have your final opportunity to purchase your “last chance” tickets before the auction closes.
Ticket prices are as follows: 3 tickets for $10, 8 tickets for $20, 20 tickets for $40. Cash or credit cards will be accepted.
“Live auction” items as well as all other items will be on display in the conference Welcome Center Wednesday and Thursday.
Don't worry about getting your new items home. You can use our UPS station to ship everything! The UPS station will be available on Saturday, March 14th in the morning.
Our goal is to raise over $11,000 to help the Texas Credit Union Foundation for Hurricane Ike relief. Buy tickets, buy often, and help credit union families weather the storm. See You At The Conference!
